Came here for my anniversary and oh my word. The grilled octopus was perfection, it was so soft and tender. The flavor was great. My boyfriend who doesn’t like octopus even agreed and told me verbatim “I understand now why you like octopus.” The amaretto sour was so delicious and I loved that they used egg whites. I’ve been to at least 4 of the top 50 bars in the world and this is up there for sure. The only reason Cafe Central isn’t ranked is because these reviewers haven’t come to El Paso. The prime ribeye was other worldly. I’m a meat lover and sometimes when I eat meat I want to just scarf it down, but this meat was different. I wanted to take my time eating the steak and cutting it into small pieces. It’s sooooo tender and flavorful. I would not be surprised if you told me they had a person in the back specifically massaging the steak. Overall a really pleasant experience.

We had attended a company event here for Christmas and wanted to come back and try it on our own. We were not dissapointed! From the bar and dining service, down to the personalized card I requested for our table. Our experience was top shelf! We essentially ended up with a team of two handling our drinks and food orders. Our meals and appetizers were cooked to perfection and the vocalist, piano and horn players were a wonderful surprise. When in El Paso this a must stop for fine dining!

We visited for dinner with an 8:30 PM reservation. The restaurant had a fair amount of people in it, but there were still some tables available. We parked in a nearby parking structure; it was a very short walk, and the area seemed very safe with a visible police presence. ​Cafe Central is a very nice, upscale restaurant, though it was fairly loud inside during our visit due to the live singer and piano player. Nonetheless, the atmosphere was still very pleasant. ​The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the Central Caesar Salad, which was served beautifully on a whole head of romaine, and the Signature Cream of Green Chile Soup. That soup was phenomenal, and honestly probably the best soup I’ve ever had. Even though it was smooth and creamy, it had a little bit of heat afterward that wasn't overwhelming at all, but really made the dish very tasty. ​For our main course, we had the Puntas de Filete. The meat was outstanding and prepared perfectly, and it came served with delicious whipped potatoes and asparagus that was cooked to perfection.

Cafe Central, the name does not elude you to fine dining but it is. Went here for dinner for my first time in El Paso with some business partners. Did not disappoint. I had the pork chop and it had to be one of the biggest chops I had. Needless to say I was not able to finish but gave it a try. The appetizer were all great. Grilled octopus and calamari were cooked just right. The dessert was fantastic. I am a dessert person. Pair the food with a good wine and you have a great meal. Definitely give them a try for fine dining.

We were able to celebrate our anniversary here on Friday night (5/1/2026). Service was spectacular! Our waiters were extremely kind and attentive. They had live piano music so that was very nice. The main seating area is beautiful and elegant, so perfect for an anniversary! This was our first time here, so we wanted to try a few things. We got a dirty martini with grey goose, and a berry mojito. Both were great and priced nicely. We also got the crab cake appetizer, and it was one of our favorite things of the night. The bread service was very nice, and we loved the rosemary and jalapeño corn muffins they offered. For our mains (puntas de filete & grilled tenderloin) we loved the steak, but our only complaint was that we wish we could have done other sides. For the dessert, they were all super tasty, but we loved the tres leches. Overall, it was a great anniversary dinner and experience, and we look forward to coming back.
